Osprey Games has another of their Historical wargames popping up this year in November. Wars Of The Republic takes you back to Ancient history as you fight alongside the legions of Rome.
Wars Of The Republic // Osprey Games
This new set of rules from Eric Farrington is going to explore the fighting during the First Samnite War through to the conquest of the Italian Peninsula and the defeat of Hannibal at Lake Trasimene. You will be able to take command of the Romans or end up fighting against them as you try to hold back their expansion.
Rules are included for many different armies like the forces of Gaul, Carthage, Iberia, and Greece. Additionally, you'll also find a range of army lists that reflect the changing state of the legions during this period.
These blue books are always a nifty option for those wanting to explore a variety of Historical periods. They feel particularly handy for those who have miniatures in their collection that have been collecting dust and require renewing!
Are you going to be picking up Wars Of The Republic?

Good to see, look forward to this coming out.
Great set of books
I bet Gerry’s copy is first on the order list.
I wonder if it is large battles with representation, large skirmish like Infamy, Infamy or just small skirmish like Saga?
If it’s similar to it’s Greek predecessor then scale wise it would fit between Saga and Infamy. Though you could scale that up and go beyond Infamy if wanted.
@captainventanus thanks, good to know.
Another blue book to add to the growing collection, and in interesting period too!
I love the wars of the early Republic so this will be going on the shelf for sure. I’d also be interested to know what scale of battle it works in.
Curious how will it stand against Clash of Spears – which seems to be instant classic for the period.
