Use Warlord’s New Cuirassier To Protect Pike & Shotte Baggage
May 21, 2024 by brennon
Warlord Games has some new kits for you to dive into for Pike & Shotte Epic Battles and the English Civil War. If you're looking to thunder across the battlefield and deliver a hail of shot from your pistols then you can't go too far wrong with a regiment of Cuirassiers.
Cuirassier Regiment // Pike & Shotte Epic Battles
This set features a regiment of ornately armoured Cuirassiers armed with their pistols. Send these fellows rolling forward across the battlefield before performing a caracole. This was where the riders would ride left or right, fire one pistol and then slowly move their horses to the other side so they could unload another shot. This was usually then followed by a retreat to reload or a charge as the Cuirassiers were often armed for close combat.

This set comes with fifteen miniatures spread across the bases in Warlord Resin. You also get the Cuirassiers flag sheet so you can attach some glorious banners. This is a solid little set and one that certainly hones in on an iconic unit for the period.
Protect The Baggage Camp!
You might end up sending those cavalry miniatures to defend or raid the Baggage Camp which is also available from Warlord for Pike & Shotte Epic Battles.
Baggage Camp // Pike & Shotte Epic Battles
This set is perfect for creating interesting scenarios where you need to watch your Baggage Camp and civilian entourage as well as your main fighting force. If your baggage camp or train was ever attacked then that could mean the end of your campaign. With no supplies, food, water and shelter your army wasn't going anywhere.
This set comes with twelve carts/wagons/carriages in MDF as well as eighteen shacks or stalls also in MDF. You then get seven camp followers and sentry miniatures which are made of Warlord Resin.

I think this is a great set and definitely one that you'll want to pick up regardless of what army or war you might be fighting. I think you could set up some interesting raids where the objective isn't just to destroy the enemy but disrupt them and cripple their supply lines. You could also use this as a bit of set dressing to breathe some life into your terrain set-up.
Could you be tempted to snap up either of these kits for Pike & Shotte Epic Battles?
