Warlord’s Mounted Gendarmes Get Themselves Glorious Commanders
June 8, 2018 by brennon
Warlord Games continue to add to their Pike & Shotte Wars Of Religion selection as they bring the Command Element of their Mounted Gendarmes to the tabletop.
The set gives you a banner bearer, musician and champion for your units all armoured and mounted up ready for combat. They also all sport rather spiffing looking facial hair which you know you need if you're going to be taking command.
A regiment of the Gendarme is also available for you to snap up, giving you some hefty cavalry options in your force.
These riders were feared and famed across Europe during the period as valiant soldiers who would lay down their lives for the cause. As an elite cavalry unit, they were unsurpassed for many years and would be able to strike deep into the ranks of the enemy force.
They do look superb, and very much what you'd assume is the inspiration for the Knightly Orders of The Empire from The Old World.
What do you think of these riders?

Looks good.
Those are some decent Lances 🙂
Not a period I plan to collect, but those are fantastic.
Might be useful for my Estalians, though I guess they are smaller than most fantasy ranges.
nice.
