Warlord Take Hail Caesar Back To The Age Of Bronze Soon
February 11, 2019 by brennon
Prepare your Hittites and your Egyptians as Warlord Games are preparing to take folks back to the Age Of Bronze with a new supplement for Hail Caesar going up for pre-order soon.
The new supplement will take you back to the Ancient world and have you fighting as these amazing armies. It's a nice change of scenery and a real opportunity to learn more about a side of history that some folks probably don't know much about as well.
It does highlight what historical wargaming can do for folks. If you snapped up this book and started building an army you'd open up a wealth of new content for you to get stuck into.
The book pre-order will come with a special miniature as they always do, this time based on Rameses II.
Will you be getting stuck into this?

This intrigues me …. I don’t know why …. but it does
one of the best armies of their time.
Why is it as always Ramses II?. Thutmose III was probably Egypt’s greatest warrior Pharaoh
Because most people who like History to some degree will know who Ramses II is so it’s a good opener for people who like their Egyptian history. Alas for Thutmose III but I’m sure he will be mentioned within there somewhere.
But surely those invested in history will know who Thutmose III is, while those that don’t will at worst just see a generic Pharaoh mini and at best use it as an excuse/motivation to read up on an historical figure they know little if anything about?
I like history to a degree but didn’t know who Thutmose III was, but was aware of Ramses II – even with limited knowledge of Egyptian history. So, I guess a passing knowledge is what drives their choices here.
But would it being a Thutmose mini instead of a Ramses make you not want it, or would it make you curious and go look him up? And would you even be able to tell what Pharaoh it was a mini of if they didn’t tell you? 😉
I regularly window-shop Warlord’s Sumerian minis. Stop making me want more armies!
Make you? Wanting more minis is something hardcoded into every wargamer’s DNA.
?
True *rocks back and forth*
No, it’s not! I can stop any time!111!
I hope they’ll be providing interesting pieces of terrain.
