Warlord Introduce New Wargaming Range, Mythic Americas
February 3, 2021 by brennon
Warlord Games are working with Nelson Martinez to bring a new game world to Warlords Of Erehwon. Mythic Americas is going to be a wargame centred around those core mechanics but looking to the folklore, mythology and peoples of the Americas.

The game will use the rules from Warlords Of Erehwon, brought to life by Rick Priestley, but there will then be a few tweaks here and there to bring the game into this new and exciting world. At its core though, the game is going to be the one that you know. There are already a lot of options available on the Warlord Games webstore including ways to build up an army for the Aztecs and the Tribal Nations.
For example, here is the Aztec Starter Army which you can pick up from Warlord Games at the moment.

It comes with a wealth of miniatures, admittedly with a lot of repeat sculpts, and then those towering Tlalocan-Bound Marauders which serve as your monstrous infantry. The same goes for the Tribal Nations who have a core of good troops supported by larger monsters.

I have to say, I am very much liking the look of those Sasquatches in the background supporting the warriors of the Tribal Nations. All of the options you see here are also available separately so you can pick up more miniatures to help grow your force.
There are two more factions coming to Mythic Americas too. You will also be able to play as the Inca and Mayans which will each be given their own collection of miniatures. I am very interested in seeing what's different amongst the Inca and Mayan armies, especially when it comes to their monsters.
When it comes to monsters, one of them really does stick out for me amongst the collection right now. Check out this Wendigo!

If you want to find out more about this game then there is a dedicated website for Mythic Americas HERE. As well as just talking about the game in general, you also get a look at why they chose Warlords Of Erehwon and the designer's approach to wargaming with these cultures on the tabletop. It's interesting reading and I like that we're getting a game which looks beyond the realms of Western Fantasy.
If you're interested in the game then you can pick up the new Starter Set but there is also a Collector's Edition which comes with these exclusive miniatures.

This offers up a Jaguar Warrior, Sapa Emperor On Spirit Jaguar and then a Roman who looks like he has lost his way! I think this could be a fascinating game to dive into and the miniatures, in particular, are looking superb.
I am eager to see the other factions for Mythic Americas and I hope that a lot of people give this one a go!

Very much a fan of the tribal nation. I’m not sure why there is a Roman in the exclusive set guessing his boat got very lost
Love the Indian warriors.
Those look really good.
Man I definitely need to get me some of these.
I really like the copncept and it is great to see Warlord manage to keep coming up with something new and different. That said there are lots of repeat poses in the sets and the pricepoint misses the mark for me – 3 ogre sized minis for £35 is more expensive than GW!
