Warlord Games Announce Project Z Miniatures Game
January 29, 2016 by brennon
Everyone seems to be back on the zombie train this year. Warlord Games have been working with Wargames Factory (who produce both Survivors and Zombies) and have now got plans in the works for a game called Project Z...
This game is going to be available in April of this year and you will be able to check out the game at Salute 2016 this year. This will be a full on miniatures game with "freedom of movement, statlines and more" as they say themselves.
Warlord will have access to all of the Dark Future content that Wargames Factory produced so we should have regular survivors fighting alongside soldiers to destroy the undead hordes.
Will you be keeping an eye out for more?

Decisions.. decisions. This or the Walking Dead? Or both
If both are 28mm you can probably use the same models for both anyway.
…there are also a number of previously unreleased Wargames Factory kits which may well find their way into the ‘Project Z’ range…
😉

Do any of them have M16A1s?
I have been looking forward to those bikers since they were teased last year; are there MORE kits on tops of that coming?? what’s the ETA on this?
@greenlumux – “available in April of this year and you will be able to check out the game at Salute 2016 this year.”
Hopefully the female zombie kit will be re-sized a little (smaller) and the male zombie kit made a little taller so that they look like they are from the same range 😀
Hmm, I suppose I really ought to hurry up and paint my Empress moderns up!
Always love some zombie goodness, lets hope they can capture the struggle with these rules.
Oooooh, well if it’s between this or the Walking Dead then I think I’ll take my chances on Warlord’s attempt at a bit of Zed slaying.
I really enjoy the WD comic but I just know Warlord have a great track record with minis and I’ve been wanting to take a crack at some of the Wargames Factory stuff for a whole so this looks like a winner in my book!
It’ll be grand to see it at Salute. 🙂
Zombies love it.
I certainly will still buy Mantic’s game once released just because I love the IP but I’m really excited about this now 😎
Looking forward to getting my grubby mittens on those new bikers and special forces!!
Can’t wait till Salute..
Salute this year is going to be a vintage show I reckon, I gots that feeling…
(On the other hand that might be the dodgy tiffin I had earlier >_> )
This will be interesting.
Project Z models will be hard plastic, Walking Dead will be PVC so that is the deciding factor for me. Also I have the old Wargames Factory Survivors sets and they are pretty great, especially if you like conversion work.
I like that I could use hassle free miniatures with this game. Would love to use them than just paint them.
And as well as using hasslefree I’m going to us my studio miniatures WD figs too , looking forward to this .
The Walking Dead seems to me more a miniatures boardgame, while from Warlord I would expect a more classic skirmish wargames, I think there is space for both in the market, however I would have bought the Mantic game if it was the only choice…
If Warlord will make a skirmish campaign game similar to Frostgrave but with survivors and Zombies then I’m all in!
