Warlord Bolster The Plastic Troops For The War Of Independence
January 16, 2016 by brennon
Warlord Games have been marching out a whole bunch of new plastic kits for their Black Powder range for The War Of Independence. Continental Infantry, Militia Men & Woodland Indians are all joining the fighting...
The first of these sets is the Continental Infantry Regiment which gives you twenty four musketeers including the command elements, six light infantry and also a background guide with flags. Will you be joining them in the fight or battling against them?
Following on from them we have the Militia Men rising up to fight for the colony. Formed of mainly civilians these soldiers were the solid line of defence that stopped the frontier towns falling to Native attack or raids from the French and Spanish.
This would be the set for me with all manner of interesting looking sculpts in rag tag uniforms. You get thirty soldiers in this box as well as the background pamphlet.
Last but not least we have the Woodland Indians who were fighting their own civil war while the Colonies were rebelling against their forefathers. Many of these warriors joined the fighting on either side while other tribes advocated peace.
This set gives you twenty four of these plastic Indians who come in a variety of interesting poses. I love how they all look different and have their individual personalities.
Which side will you fight for?

Very tempted to pick up a box of woodland Indians for tomahawk and muskets
Check out my Articles on the French Indian War that have been posted on Beasts of War. One that should go up soon is how the game works. Getting a Box of Indians and a box of Colonial Militia would be great for some themed games on the Frontier. I have some of these boxes and they are very high quality stuff with tonnes of spare bits and the boxes make great painting guides
I’m just tempted by them. They are stunning.
Very nice.
Good to see Warlord keeping their end of the deal with Wargames factory (those are the Wargames factory minis, Warlords just re-released them in new boxes with a few new parts added).
Finally proper box art 😎
I’ve got all those and really like them.
Now I’m waiting for the Hessians to bolster my Regulars..
