Warhammer Age Of Sigmar Launch Box Pre-Orders This Weekend!
June 25, 2024 by brennon
Games Workshop are closing in on the start of pre-orders for the new edition launch box for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. The Skaventide boxed set is coming soon featuring the new Stormcast Eternals and Skaven but we also got some more miniature previews over the last few weeks that we need to catch up on!
Brood Terror // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Shop Warhammer Age Of Sigmar @ Store.OnTableTop
The first of these miniatures is the terrifying amalgamation of flesh and technology that is the Brood Terror. Both Clans Skryre and Moulder have worked together on this terrifying creation that is as much boiling warp fuel as rippling, mutated muscle.

Many Skaven are sacrificed to bring these creations to life, especially that of the Master Moulder. When melded into this creature, it uses its brain power to control the myriad of weapons that it has at its disposal including flails, the warpflame scourgers and those nasty knife-limbs.
I think this is another win for the new Skaven for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar in terms of design. I've liked everything that has come out as part of the new edition apart from the Warlock Engineer (who needs more warp-warp!). It will be great to see what they do for Clans Eshin.
A Redeemed Warrior
Next up when it comes to new miniatures, we have Tornus The Redeemed.
Tornus The Redeemed // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Once known as Torglug The Despised, forced into servitude under the thumb of the Plague God Nurgle, this once-Chaos Champion battled against the forces of the Stormcast Eternals and the Sylvaneth in Ghyran. This was until he came up against the Celestant-Prime who used the power of Ghal Maraz to purge his soul of corruption, offering him a chance of redemption as his body was broken and sent to the heavens to be reforged. He has happily taken up the lantern.
Knight-Azyros (Details) // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Tornus The Redeemed now fights for the Stormcast Eternals as a Knight-Azyros. He now soars across the battlefields of The Mortal Realms alongside other winged warriors, using his sacred lantern to burn away the filth of corruption and banish Chaos. A rather impressive miniature and a great call back as part of the Ruination Chamber to the original stories told during the birth of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar.
Skaventide Launch Box Pre-Orders
These miniatures could then be your next step after picking up the new Skaventide Launch Box which is coming up for pre-order this weekend from Games Workshop. It will, of course, be available over on Store.OnTableTop!
Skaventide Launch Box // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This set comes with two full Spearhead forces for the new edition of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar and then some. You also get more than that with enough to start building up a much larger army for use in your regular games of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar too. The miniatures are then joined by terrain, all the books you need and the various accessories for different game modes.

A lot of previews have started to come out about the new boxed set and the new edition as a whole and it seems like Games Workshop might have hit the nail on the head this time. The Spearhead game mode has gone down well and seems like a great evolution of the likes of Combat Patrol to be a properly good entry point into The Mortal Realms. It feels like they have got a good handle on making Spearhead a stepping stone into proper Warhammer Age Of Sigmar rather than some strange halfway house.
I think it also helps that the lore and background has really developed over the last few years and there are more great touchstones for people to latch onto when it comes to breaking into this Fantasy world.
The pre-orders for Skaventide will be joined by pre-order bonuses, either from Games Workshop or from independent stores. These will be available in limited numbers so make sure to look over the blog HERE and make your decisions.
Are you tempted by the new edition of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar?

I’m not. After GW hosed the entire contents of the last box I bought in 2018 I’ll be buggered if I am going to buy any more, or into this system. What minis I have shall be used in other systems. Fool me once shame on you GW, fool me twice shame on me.
Happy for all the Skaven lovers out there who’ve been waiting years and years for new minis.
