Wargames Atlantic has been showing off some previews of one of their new 28mm Sci-Fi kits. The Les Grognards Cavalry set did so well on Atlantic Digital that they are going to be making it into a full plastic kit to complement the existing range!

The range already features a set of infantry alongside heavy weapons and command elements. Now you can look forward to throwing some thundering cavalry into the mix as well, smashing their way through enemy lines with those heavily armoured horses.

Renders are nice but we also have this lovely painted version by Matthew Leahy which gives you a good idea of what these cavalry miniatures will look like on the tabletop.

Using the plastic horses that Wargames Atlantic already produce as a foundation, the armour and cloth are optional elements of the build. For example, if you want your Grognards riding around on plain horses then you can indeed do that. You could always mix and match things to represent a ramshackle unit of cavalry that has been on campaign for a while.

A lot of folks are going to be using these as replacements for the Rough Riders of the Astra Militarum and I think they would suit quite nicely. With so many different elements now available, you can even use these kits to tinker with bigger pieces in the Warhammer 40,000 line like the tanks, sentinels and such. That way you can have a proper themed army!
