Wargames Atlantic Working On New Plastic Fantasy Elves!
February 21, 2024 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic has announced that the latest winner of the Vox Populi vote was the classic Fantasy Elves. This new set is now up on their webstore for you to vote and pledge your support for so they can turn it into a hard plastic kit.

Some early concepts have already come together for the range showing off different bodies, heads and poses. If the set gets enough support then it will move into the next stage of production and you'll soon be able to get your hands on a great set of Fantasy Elves for you to use when building your armies.

It looks like they are planning to produce options for you to arm your Elves with bows and hand weapons. That should make for a good set which can be used to produce the core of your Fantasy armies going forward. Use them to represent your light infantry and rangers as well as your hunters and classic archers that will be raining down arrows on your foes. The previews are still showcasing the miniatures early in the process but they're looking good!
I could see these being great plastic miniatures for you to use when bulking out an Oathmark army. They look like they would sit well against the existing plastic sets in 28mm from North Star Military Figures. You can also share your thoughts on these Elves on the Wargames Atlantic Forums.
Will you be helping bring these Elves to life?

I really like these. I was reading the comments on their page, and it seems the community have a problem with the elf faces. Apparently they seem a bit Hobbit-like in their puffiness, especially near the lower face and chin area. I concede that may be a reasonable critique.
Personally I am fine with it. Just paint their hair grey and make them look like they are older elves. It works for me!
I like the faces as well, gives them a bit of character in my opinion.
Seems like the sculptors don’t realize that Elves are supposed to be beautiful.
I really like the look of these, the faces look great to me as well, so charismatic. The first one really reminds me of the old art for the Legend of Zelda for some reason. I may want to pick up a box of those.
