Wargames Atlantic Release Updated Eisenkern Stormtroopers
August 28, 2020 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic has marked with Mark Mondragon to produce a new set of the 28mm Eisenkern Stormtroopers in plastic from the world of Iron-Core. The set of twenty soldiers are ready to hit the battlefields of the future.
Eisenkern Stormtroopers Box // Wargames Atlantic
The team at Wargames Atlantic have been working with Mark to produce this selection of retooled and upgraded Eisenkern Stormtroopers with all manner of weapon options and a badass look that would make them a perfect force of soldiers for an evil empire.

As well as the core troops in this set with their array of different weapon options, you'll also be able to make a team leader without his helmet to take command. Also, the team at Wargames Atlantic are also working on bringing more of the Iron-Core world to life including the Eisenkern Panzerjägers.

This was a great range of miniatures from back in the day and it's good to see them getting another lease of life. With a lot of people diving into all sorts of Sci-Fi games, these soldiers really do fit the bill as agnostic miniatures which could be used across all manner of different games and worlds.
You could also paint them up in really different ways in order to make them pop that little bit more. The minitures here are very much in a standard colour scheme but I think they'd look good with different levels of camoflague and such too.
Are you tempted by these Eisenkern Stormtroopers?
"I think they'd look good with different levels of camoflague and such too..."
Paint them black and you’ve got Star Wars Deathtroopers 😉
501st?
Well I want some.
I thought these were dreamforge? I hope they bring out the rest of the range
They were Dreamforge and now they’re getting redone by Wargames Atlantic.
Speaking of Dreamforge do we have any information on what’s happening to those awesome looking Leviathan mechs?
Last I heard they were redoing everything in resin.
they started in resin, after the plastic attempts were unable to be maintained Mark went back to resin as it could be cast in house.
Are you tempted by these Eisenkern Stormtroopers….
You fecking bet i am.I have a 10 man squad from the Dreamforge days that were going into my planned IG army,so a box of these is definitely heading my way just because i can,no idea of what to do with them or if it even opens my 40k door again.
So ( potentially ) we could see the heavier armoured troops re-appear in the far future ?
the plan is to release any of the existing models along with a Russian opposition.
If the infantry is successful then the larger vehicles may even make an appearance
Shadowkesh please!
perfect for Konflict 47
Good to see. Has anyone by chance done some head swaps with either Anvil Industries or Puppets War heads? With a tiny bit of work these might be redone as Martian Marines from the Expanse, which is what I am after.
@captainventanus as a matter of fact, I’ve done just that, swapping out the Teutonic heads for the Puppetswar veteran heads. I was building a near future combat team. They look fantastic. For vehicle crews I even used a few GW Cadian heads, as the helmets look like tanker helmets.
Sounds good, thanks.
I have a squad of these with puppets war heads. Needed a little green stuff around the join as the ones I used had hoods.
Wondering if they have been resized as I remember the Eisenkern being quite tall in comparison with other ranges.
not resized, but some things are being resized, like weapon tooling to make them a little more robust
They are pretty well scaled with GW plastics. I’ve kitbashed Eisenkern parts with IG and they look decent enough. The Eisenkern are less chunky than the older GW kits but similar height.
The leviathans would be on my list also. ?
They look fabulous for futuristic troops or a SWAT team’s
With some modifications they’d look straight out of the Jin-Roh anime.
Always liked these. Nice quality. But they lacked an enemy and a set of rules that would have pushed me off the fence. Russians would be nice indeed. A new and innovative ruleset would be even nicer. Might have to look at some of those Chain of Command adaptations that are floating around.
for rules : Star Breach … it’s generic sci fi skirmish with templates that fit anything from Star Wars to 40k.
perfect for Konflict 47 heavy troopers to add to an existing german force
Nice to see these guys making a return from a talented company, look forward to seeing the Neo Russians
Wargames Atlantic are fast becoming the company I always dreamed of.
Yep. These are on the list now. Just bought five boxes of plastic goodness from Wargames Atlantic and once that is underway I’m all over this set too. I missed the original release and have been interested for a while so looking forward to these and more Neo-Sovs to go with my Copplestone.
I’m a nerd,so i can’t help wishlisting:
( if the Eisenkern Stormtroopers go well )
Heavy Infantry
Iron Boar APC ( plus conversion kits )
Hover Stüg
Leviathan
Plus an opposing force as has been mentioned here
Those sre nice. Those give me Helghast from Killzone vibe.
I’ve got boxes of these, but not enough to finish off my combat team. So good to see!
I hope they finally produce the Shadowkesh. Those were some great looking aliens. Anyone know if they’ll be making them?
Great to see the Eisenkern making their return! They were always a fascinating range with their hybrid WW2/stormtrooper/near future looks, and it’s great to see that they’re still alive and kicking!
(How does Wargames Atlantic hit it out of the park EVERY time?!)
Wow, good to see these back again. I have a couple of the Dreamforge kits and they are really impressive.
I’m sooo happy to see these guys again. I hope they produce the new vehicles they had on kickstarter ( the future stug). I couldn’t justify the purchase at the time and I have regretted ever since.
This reminds me, I wonder if the moulds for Wargames Factory’s Greatcoat Shock Troops are still around somewhere? They weren’t amazing in terms of quality, but they had a decent selection of kit on the sprue and they were pretty cheap for the number of bodies in the box.
Given how Wargames Atlantic has been going, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for them to either get the rights to the designs from Dreamforge or make their own take on them. I’ve still got a few parts knocking around from those boxes; just update the sculpt and material quality a bit, and they’d be a perfect fit for the range.
I’ve been catching up on the chatter surrounding these.Vehicles aren’t planned as yet,but a site called Mortian was posted as alternatives, for the half-track in particular, the tanks don’t fit the look ( imho ).
Those look pretty cool. Tempted… yes. 🙂
