Wargame Exclusive Release Their Space Elves Phoenix Figure
February 16, 2021 by brennon
Wargame Exclusive has released another new Space Elves miniature for those wanting to take an alternative path into the grimdark future. This is the Phoenix who is going to be slicing and dicing their way through many a 28mm foe.

Sculpted in resin, this is a miniature which would work for those building both a traditional Eldar or Dark Eldar force for games like Warhammer 40,000. There are some interesting nods in the sculpt to both characters like Jain Zar and Lelith Hesperax.

The miniature is posed leaping into the air with a weapon in hand to strike at her foes. It certainly adds some dynamism to the sculpt, even if you don't like the idea of foot-on-rock syndrome. I like that this is another of the more reserved miniatures from Wargame Exclusive which gives the look of a well-armoured and deadly individual.
Are you tempted to step away from traditional Games Workshop miniatures?

That looks really good.
Nice.
I think she could very easily be converted to fit right into my Fantasy Dark Elves army. I plan on getting her someday.
I was really impressed with the one fig I’ve bought from them so far. This company’s stuff is NICE~!
Can’t quite put my finger on it but, i’m not a big fan…
A few things jump out at me:
The clothing/armour looks mis-matched; some parts appear to be a wrap or bandage, others are contiguous armour plates, while others are overlapping segments.
The pose is off. It looks like it should be an action pose, with the model springing from the fallen arch, but the way that the weapon is being held suggests a more relaxed motion. It lacks clear directionality.
The hair doesn’t seem to be flowing behind the body, but is being used as an additional support, being sculpted to contact the masonry on which the model is standing.
Yep, i think you managed to put into words what i could’nt 🙂
