Wargame Exclusive Pump Up Their New Ork Recon Grot
March 31, 2020 by brennon
Wargame Exclusive has been showing off a funky new sculpt for their expanding Sci-Fi Ork range. If you're looking for something extra comical to drop into the mix alongside your all Grot army (certainly needs to happen) then check out the Ork Recon Grot Drone.
This particular fellow would be rather awesome when used as some kind of scouting unit in your games. I like the idea that maybe you could drop a few of these around the tabletop and have them be the objectives that people need to bring down to stop the big Ork Waaaagh from crashing onto the battlefield.
There is a lot to like about Orks and Grots in general as they are exceptionally fun to paint and can offer you new and interesting challenges each time you sit down to paint them. Also, Grots are so small that painting hordes of them shouldn't be that much of an issue!
The other way you could look at building up a force with these models is to use them and their expanding Grot Collection as champions and leaders for your units. I like the idea that you could then theme each of your Grot mobs around them so it would be easy to identify them on the battlefield.
Are you tempted by these new additions to the Wargame Exclusive collection?

This is exactly what I want to see from indies making grimdark minis. Utterly glorious!
I love these sculpts…. if they where around when I played 40k I would have gone broke XD
The new colonel blimp blimp ?
Great fun! I’m using Tau models as aliens in my Traveller game, and have picked up a number of their models as heroes. Good quality and very detailed mini’s.
Hahaha!
Absolutely brilliant!!!
As mildly disturbing as the concept is, I love it when third party companies emphasize the over-the-top and goofy nature of the orks that hasn’t always been present in the mainstream GW releases. (Thankfully there’s been a bit of turn-around as of late and we’ve got more funny offerings than before, but I do still miss classic “fun” models like the Goff Rokkers.)
That’s amazing! What a wonderful little miniature.
