Miniature Display Heaven With Walhalla From Ill Gotten Games

I think it's time to redecorate the office...
Walhalla is a 3D-printable, modular shelving system for your miniatures. Created by Ill Gotten Games, the STL files allow you to tailor your design for your individual space and aesthetic. Print, paint and build your own unique shelving system, and give your miniatures the display they deserve!
These 3d-printable STL files print without support and assemble (and re-assemble) without glue or additional parts. Wallhalla shelving units can be mounted on the wall (even using push-pins for smaller builds), or can stand on a shelf or in a display case. The parts are durable, easy to print and paint, and each shelf style includes versions with or without a round recess fitted to bases from 20mm-70mm.
Ill Gotten Games have promised to add and update as the campaign continues, bringing more aesthetic flourishes to the designs. Backers can also choose from a range of pledge levels, however, the highest level also grants a seller's license, meaning your Kickstarter pledge could actually end up earning you money in the long run!
There are a number of other updates promised for later releases as well, including;
- Slotted versions for adding clear acrylic covers
- Additional "terrain" details and shelves that can be used as vertical miniature terrain
- Shelves built to incorporate LED components
- Recesses for other base shapes (square, hex, et cetera) (+ADDED+)
- Shelves designed for magnetized components
- Lots of new themes (caves, modern city, post-apocalyptic, more)
Look, I don't know how many people reading this actually own a 3D printer, but if you do, this is such an easy decision.
Look at it. It's amazing. Large acrylic display cases are out; get yourself some custom shelving! Available on Kickstarter here.
What do you think? Are 3D printing and modular shelving the future of miniature display?

I think that looks pretty horrible. Reminds me of something plastic you’d buy from B&M for your granny to put her Lilliput Lane collection in
I think it’s a good idea, I would have preferred something enclosed in plexiglas or something.. because dust.

You can add the plexiglass to the unit by printing the slotted items
Kinda reminds me of the old dioramas they used to have in WD, the RT rulebook etc.

If it can/could be used to add some vertical storage for the back of a display cabinet, I can see it. £12 for the STL files and print all you like seems fair enough. I’m not sure I would attach it to the wall due to the dust issue.

great for vertical spacehulk ?
This is brilliant. I’ll use them inside my glass display case ( which is tall anyway) to increase the usable volume and look awesome with kill teams etc.
Putting them into a display is good idea as well. And saves a lot of space on the wall. This is really a nice project.
That vertical terrain is interesting idea and execution doesn’t look too bad either.
