V&V Miniatures Prepare Their 28mm Roman Onager For Battle
July 18, 2023 by brennon
Previously available in 40mm scale, V&V Miniatures have now converted their resin Roman Onager to 28mm so you can use it in your Historical wargames. Prepare to bring down enemy fortifications and crumple unfortunate foes with this piece of Roman artillery.
28mm Onager // V&V Miniatures
The set comes with the Onager itself which gets its own base so you can set up a nice little diorama/vignette. As you can see, it's in the process of being wound back and you can see all of the different rope links that make it work. You've then got the rest of the resin cre who are being directed to get this loaded up, ready to hurt the enemy in the heart of their formation.
28mm Onager // V&V Miniatures
I really like the detail that V&V Miniatures have worked into these sculpts. It is going to sit very nicely at the back of your army and will look lovely once you've got some good basing material down and painted up the crew.
In doing a bit of reading about Onagers, it seemed like they were reasonably effective but could even be deadly for the crew. The recoil was so great that if it was placed on a stone wall it might end up causing a bit of damage to those around it! It was believed that the Onager was great for sieges but also for sowing confusion amongst the enemy ranks, even if it didn't kill anyone.
Will you be snapping this kit up?
