Craft Village Rails With Osprey Games’ New Card Game
March 11, 2022 by brennon
Osprey Games has announced a brand new card game from Brett J. Gilbert and Matthew Dunstan featuring beautiful illustrations from Joanna Rosa. Will you be able to make the best network of Village Rails?
Village Rails // Osprey Games
Village Rails is a two-to-four player card game "of locomotives and local motives" (love that tag line) where the core of gameplay revolves around piecing together a network of railway lines. Not only do you have to manage your growing tableau but give locals a good trip along the rails, meeting their exacting standards.
All this has to be done with limited in-game funding meaning that you're going to have to get your head around a simple but engaging puzzle at the tabletop.
I am very interested to see how the gameplay of Village Rails shakes out as I am all for small games that pack a lot into the box. I also like beautiful games and Osprey tend to make some of the most pleasing looking games out there! I get the sense that you'll have something lovely to look at (hopefully!) when you've finished building your tableau.
You'll be able to play Village Rails in August 2022 so watch this space!
