Vikings & A Slice Of The Steampunk From Scale75
July 9, 2014 by brennon
Scale75 have a new pair of awesome looking miniature figures for you to pick up. If you fancy adding a bit of Steampunk to your gaming room then you can pick up Carla Mc Carthy but if Vikings is more your thing then see what you think of Ragnar Lodbrok himself!
First up we have said Steampunk heroine and you might recognise her from the fundraiser campaign they ran recently. The paint job is rather awesome and you can indeed buy it from them like this. It does cost a little bit more to do so of course and if you want to brave painting her yourself then I commend you and want to see your work!
If you're a fan of the new Vikings series from the History Channel then you'll be familiar with Ragnar Lodbrok, the forward thinking explorer and raider who headed over to England and caused quite a headache for the local lords. The miniature is a great likeness and even has his Odin inspired jerkin just right.
Hopefully Scale75 will do other heroes and heroines from the show. I'd love one of Lagertha!
What do you think?

I posted a month ago, on BOW, how I would like a Ragnar Lodbrok miniature along with the others from Vikings TV series and here it is and a very good likeness as well. I only wish it was in 28mm so I could play him in Saga and a few other games I play.
Is the shield sculpted or just painted wrong? A viking shield like this wouldn’t work, there would be a great lack of stability and the shield would fall apart at the first hit.
But in my opinion there is a lot wrong with “Vikings” ^^
I like the Steampunk Lady, nice sculpting and a real good paint job…
How so exactly on the shield?
I wouldn’t dream of trying to paint these. I am happy to admire them and stick to painting my tabletop armies. infinity is my biggest challenge these days.
That said I love them both.Fantastically sculpted and painted. Makes you sick! 😉
You’d be surprised at how easy it is compared to what you abticipate… it just takes a lot of time ! It’s liberating, doing surfaces like that.
I will leave the masterful painting to you and those with the time and the passion, but you are probably right. 🙂
Great job, Scale75, on the Rognar Lothbrook mini. Yep, great start, very promising. But you’ve got at least one more miniature to go, don’t you? Yeah, you know what I’m talking about. Lagertha the Shieldmaiden! Shieldmaiden! Shieldmaiden! Shieldmaiden! 😀
If they don’t sculpt her I will be most upset!
BoW Ben
Sounds like someone is committing themselves to buying a Lagertha and doing a plog on the forums 😉
@brennon, that’s you. I’m more of a tank and vehicle painter than figures, and when it comes to the Shieldmaden . . . what a figure. 🙂
I really love those… Scale 75 do wonderful stuff ! If I had enough time on my hands, I’d paint thoe I actually own… lol.
Also, someone needs to say it : Ragnar is fecking hot.
I mean, if only he were bare-chested… There he’d be the male equivalent of all those ladies with gravity-defying-cleavage we see all the time in 54 and 75mm (including the charming Steampunk lady above)…
Would that the sexy males were as varied in their attires as the ladies… Usually, for males, it’s only barbarians and gladiators. Oh well.
