Victrix’s Vikings Charge Out For Pre-Order
April 28, 2019 by dracs
Victrix have shown off test shots for a new set of Viking warriors, which are now up for pre-order.
The set includes components for sixty figures, including fourteen body options, twenty-eight head options, and various other weapon options and accessories.
All these options allow you to create a warband with plenty of variety between the different miniatures.
Victrix's hard-plastic sculpts showcase a really nice degree of detail, while the set is large enough to give you the basis for a full Viking raiding party.
What games would you use these in?

Those are really nice.
Not sure I like the chainmail on some of the figures. It looks too round and too big. Yes, sculpting chainmail isn’t an exact replica but I don’t think it is a very good interpretation either. There are 11 rows of rings on the back of the warrior. From the back collar of my tshirt to my belt is about 25 inches or so, so a few back of the envelope calculations suggests the rings are very out of scale. It just doesn’t look right to me. The rest of the model looks great. I have turned into a button… Read more »
I love these guys,I’ve been toying with the idea of getting some vikings for myself but I dont really like metal minis so these are ideal!
Holy cow those are Victrix minis!? They have outdone themselves!
great looking figures.
Does a single pack add up to a saga warband or would there be gaps? Do you need archers or javelins for example?
It looks like you’d need one or the other, if your Saga warband has those sorts of troops. Gripping Beast is worth a look for those.
You can rather easily mix and match Victrix kits, so I would find one of their ancient kits and use javelins from there, the Gauls for example… Victrix makes the best javelins out there!
Ive played Vikings in Saga for a long time. To get started you wont need anything but this victrix box. The Viking battleboard doesnt benefit levy at all, and gives you a means to shut down enemy ranged attacks… so archers and javelins are only something you might take at 6-8 points. But at 4-6 points, leave them at home.
Thanks very much to the three of you for replying, really thinking about using this to pick up Saga. Presumably as well, these are ok as Anglo Danes, Norse Heels, Jomsvikings, etc?
Yep, they can be stand ins for those army lists. Norse Gaels looking the most different tho. Joms, who are most likely fantasy, can be whatever.
What about the Rus lists, these fellas look very “Vladimir prince of Kiev” compatible (thinking of getting them at some point just for that).
Lovely figs, add some female warriors and you have an army, What there are 60in the box. Can’t wait to see Gerry unboxing these.
I am pretty sure the shield maidens where more home defenders as we don’t have any records (real or otherwise) of lady viking raiders , (though I believe in the later middle age there was a scandi princess who turned to piracy but that was centuries after the Vikings), if you want to theme your army as home defenders Females are a nice touch.
These guys look awesome! Loving the dude with the severed head. Hardcore.
nice.
