Victrix Prepare To Release First Dark Age Norman Plastic Kits
May 28, 2021 by brennon
Victrix has previewed some more of the finalised Dark Age Norman plastic kit which is going to be releasing next week. If you're looking to dive into 28mm Dark Age wargames then you'll soon be able to pick up the triumvirate of Vikings, Saxons and Normans.

The set is going to give you loads of options to play around with when it comes to building armoured invaders. You've got a lot of bellowing soldiers here who are no doubt pushing their way up the muddy hills of Hastings so they can clash with the shieldwall of the Anglo-Saxons.

As is the case with all of the miniatures from Victrix, the different options presented in the kits allow you to make some pretty unique and detailed soldiers for your armies. You can use these to make a big ol' ranked up historical army or skirmishing forces for the likes of SAGA.
I particularly like the different poses in the set which allow you to make a pretty animated and angry looking Norman force.

As someone who likes positioning their miniatures to get across the narrative of combat, these are perfect. You could pose so many of these soldiers against their foes so it looks like they are hacking at shields or about to bring down a death blow or two.
As well as the miniatures, you'll also be able to pick up a set of shield transfers so you don't have to worry about being a god at freehand work!
Are you liking the look of these plastic Normans?

Those would be good for Lion Rampant as well as SAGA.
They do look nice
They look fantastic figures.
Why is Gandalf’s voice screaming ‘DON’T TEMPT ME FRODO!’ in my head? 😛 Nice looking Normans, though. I should look into Victrix’s Dark Age stuff… I had a bunch of their Napoleonics years ago (still have the sprues somewhere, I think), but I wasn’t too pleased with the proportions of things but these guys look great.
I hear that voice every time I read news on the OTT website …
so *eh* I know the drill.
You mean 1st Crusade plastic starter set of course
That’s what I’m thinking
