Victrix Band Together New Unarmoured Saxons For Dark Age Games
November 19, 2018 by brennon
Victrix has been continuing to build up a collection of new Saxon models for you to use when you're playing your Dark Age games. The latest preview was for a range of Unarmoured Saxons to use as part of the Fyrd.
As you can see there are plenty of options even just amongst this small collection. You have a few different head, weapon, shield and body options being shown off here that would work superbly well when given a lick of paint and a good wash.
I love that all of these nooks and crevices are worked into the miniatures making them very easy to paint. With The Last Kingdom coming onto screens this week from Netflix we will have a lot of people playing their Dark Age games again I reckon.
What do you think to this latest preview?

Those are very nice.
wow, Gripping Beast have got some real competition now!! bit of a tangent, but those hooded heads make me think these would make pretty good Baltic troops (Lithuanians etc) for battling the Teutonic knights…
Nice non static poses.
These look awesome, and would be absolutely fantastic in a fantasy setting, but Saxons they are not. These guys suffer from way too many re-enactorisms like hoods, pouches, and swords everywhere, but with shield swaps they might work as early 12th century men at arms.
