Victrix Preview Dark Age Anglo-Saxon Plastic Commanders
April 16, 2019 by brennon
Victrix is closing in on the release of their new plastic kit packed with Anglo-Saxon Warriors. The newest previews are for the command sprues that come with the kit giving you some neat options for characters and such when building a warband.
The first options we're seeing here are for their commander, garbed in a massive cloak. As well as the more detailed helm which would be a good signal of his status he also carries a sword which also carries a lot of importance.
If you want him to instead be a little more of a frontline powerhouse you can also arm him with that massive Dane Axe, ready to smash apart shields and defend England from the scourge of the Vikings along the coast.
Raise The Banners
As well as the commander above you'll also find options for a Banner Bearer and Horn Blower as part of the set.
The horn was a key way to control the movement of formations on the battlefield and with that banner being held high you'd have a good view of exactly what's going on during a fight. I really like the idea of including things like banners and flags into the mix for armies, just to give them another dose of character.
Will you be snapping up these Anglo-Saxons when they release?

I’m getting more tempted to try something historical with the new and improved looking plastics coming out. These look fantastic.
