Victrix has now released a new plastic kit for those diving into some Napoleonics on the tabletop. The French Napoleonic Imperial Guard Lancers are now available in plastic as a set of twelve miniatures.

Imperial Guard Lancers #1 - Victrix

The set allows you to represent Napoleon's Lancers Of The Guard and both the Polish and Dutch elements of this regiment. During the period they fought across most of Europe and finally at Waterloo. As well as being useful for Napoleon's soldiers Victrix has said that they could work as Prussians, Polish Line Lancers, Lancers De Berg and also Russian Lancers. This makes it quite a flexible kit to have in your hobbying back pocket.

Imperial Guard Lancers #2 - Victrix

One thing is for sure, this is a very animated and dynamic looking set of cavalry. Each of the riders look well placed in the saddle, surrounded by their various weapons and other accessories. All of this is then taken to the next level by those charging horses who look absolutely amazing. I particularly love the one on the right (above) which looks like it has just jumped over a low hedge.

Imperial Guard Lancers #3 - Victrix

This is a very, very, very cool plastic kit and it is absolutely packed with detail. As well as the three main frames you can also use the kit to make a command element too which is always welcome. I said it earlier today and I'll say it again; the Napoleonic period is certainly one of the most colourful and interesting ones. You can't beat seeing immense armies arrayed against each other with cannons belching and troops lining up to fire their rifles.

What do you make of this new plastic set?
