Victoria Miniatures has continued to build on their collection of alternative soldiers for the grimdark future with the Desert Scorpions Ten Man Squad. This new set gives you the basis for a new force, ready to take on the galaxy and its many, many, many threats.

Desert Scorpions Painted - Victoria Miniatures

First off, it would be pertinent to mention that these are a good fit for someone looking to expand their Astra Militarium/Imperial Guard force from Warhammer 40,000 to include some diverse and interesting regiments. I'm sure Cadians are hard as nails and they do look cool but sometimes you just need to mix it up! It should also be pointed out that Victoria Miniatures has not just a handful of alternative regiments for you to check out but thirteen.

Anyway, the kit gives you the chance to make ten soldiers armed with rifles and a few different special weapons for when the heat ramps up.

The kit has also been designed to be modular so you can mix and match the bodies, legs and arms in different ways to give you alternative looking soldiers if you decided to duplicate this squad across your whole army. In addition to that, the kit works with all of the other male components from the Victoria Miniatures range too so you can even add in some elements from other regiments if they take your fancy.

All of the models are available in resin and are incredibly well detailed as you can see above. I think with a dash of colour and a good wash, these would absolutely pop. They may be a little more on the expensive side but thankfully many Astra Militarum armies are made of armour as well as infantry so you don't have to shell out too much!

As someone who always loved seeing the alternative Imperial Guard regiments in White Dwarf, the Victoria Miniatures line-up is really cool and well worth diving into!

What do you make of this new squad?
