Raise An Undead Animal Army In The Necrohamster
August 19, 2022 by fcostin
Are you ready to raise your own undead army? Now, this is no regular undead army. This is a very particular undead army, at the paws and chubby cheeks of vindictive motives. The Necrohamster from Jackdaw Co Games is live on Kickstarter bringing a card game of undead critters, rising from the grave headed by hamsters reaching through the veil.

To set the scene, players will hope to rake in the most points by resurrecting the likes of deer, bunnies and bats from the grave. Pulling together a wide and diverse undead army superior to rivalling critter conductors to reap in devilish hamster activities.

Deciding which hamster title they would like to take hold of; 2-4 players will assume a seemingly adorable role. Whether that be a master of zombies, a master of minions or simply 'The Collector"'. After being dealt a series of cards and drawing, players will choose to summon into their play area, paying for the cost of that card by other cards in hand. Each card will have an effect, which will result in benefits for the player or reap mischief upon the opponents.
After a series of rounds, when the first lucky player rakes in 10 undead animals into their army; the player with the most creepy critters totalled in points becomes the reigning Necrohamster champion... until the next adorably sinister undead army rises!

There are three different pledges in total - one being a double dose of Necrohamster. With just a single copy of the game selling for £14 (set to go to retail for £16-20), or a more deluxe pledge for collectors including pins and accessories for £26.
There are some add-ons involved, including exclusive pins and an additional copy. Included with each pledge comes unlocked stretch goals such as quality of life upgrades, new cards, stickers and promos.

The campaign is still in its early days, with 27 days left on the clock and already x10 funded past the initial goal. Games can take roughly 5-15 minutes to play through, depending on how many Necrohamsters there are around the table. Pitched for ages 7+, and a flexing a short game length and simple setup - Necrohamsters both wise and novice can compete in bringing their undead army to fruition.
