Twisted’s Monstrous Marvels Rampage Onto Kickstarter
September 17, 2020 by avernos
Demented Games are on Kickstarter running a small campaign for Twisted, and when I say small I'm not talking about the miniatures because these will be the largest models for the game to date. The Kickstarter has a gargantuan model for each of the four twisted factions to up the game in the power struggle over control of The Engine.

Introducing the Monstrous Marvels
The Monstrous Marvels can be played by any Faction in Twisted. They have themed a Marvel for each existing Faction, but they are designed to be 'free agents' so you don't have to feel restricted to fielding one of these with your existing faction, this is a fantastic idea for gamers. Apart from getting a specific themed model for your faction, the freedom to try any of these allows you to paint something outside of your wheelhouse and at the same time vary how your Company will play by dropping in a different Marvel. Let's take a look at some of these Magnificent Monstrous Marvels...
The Inscrutable Sphinx // Twisted
The Nubt Node has a particular propensity to create creatures of its own devising, based on the memories and beliefs of those it has absorbed. The Inscrutable Sphinx is a melding of metal and mystical beast given life by the engine and controlled by the mastery of Carter. This Sphinx is unleashed when Carter seeks to sow discord and confusion.
The Tunnelling Spinner // Twisted
The Tunnelling Spinner is the largest construct the Scuffers Guild has at its disposal. Often driven by a Master of the Guild the Spinner is nevertheless capable of operating independently when needed. It has the same logic unit as the No.53 Model Mining Gentlefolk and is quite able to mount an aggressive defence if provoked.
Duviel // Twisted
Kickstarter Add-ons
There are four listed add-ons for the Kickstarter so far and with these Demented Games have had a bit of fun. Some of the miniatures are specific to the Monstrous Marvels, like Duviel above, they are sculpted to tie the model to your faction and make it more interesting. The Urkin Cuttleberry is another set on piece but comes with the Sewer Golem as part of the kickstarter and he looks like he's enjoying himself up there. Other add-ons are individual figures such as the Scarab Mummy below, and once again they're beautiful pieces in and of themselves but also fantastic to add to your Companies in Twisted.
The Kickstarter is only on for two weeks so if you're interested be sure to get in quickly so you don't miss out. They are shipping from the UK and Australia so for Europeans we don't have to worry about the big import stealth charges after the Kickstarter fulfils and I'm thankful and at the same time worried for what that will mean to my bank account.
If your Scarab Mummy's skull codpiece eyeballs glow, back away.
