TTCombat Fire Up Re-Releases For Dropzone Commander

TTCombat has previewed some of the re-releases coming to Sci-Fi wargame Dropzone Commander this weekend. A lot of these are going to be returning with new weapon options and should cover the various factions nicely.
Lifthawk Dropship // Dropzone Commander
The Resistance get themselves a few new weapon options for the Lighthawk Dropship for example. Maybe you fancy fighting as the alien Scourge? Well, they also have a terrifying set of Screamers for you to drop into the action.

I love the biomechanical look of the Scourge. It makes for a really interesting faction and also one that should be a lot of fun to paint. Slap on a lot of metallics and then go to work with inks and washes to bring out that insectoid quality.
The Shaltari get to play around with their impressive looking Firedrake Heavy Assault Gate which is pretty awesome!

If you want to move the military colours and metallics to the side then the Shaltari are certainly the faction for you. It is pretty neat to see how different all of the factions are and it makes for a very colourful game!
Lastly, we return to the military schemes with the very green Scimitar Heavy Tank.

This looks like it's a little more suped-up compared to previous UCM vehicles. Someone clearly found some schematics somewhere and decided to use all of that UCM funding for a fancy new pet project.

Nice have they upgraded the dropship.

That picture is of the lifthawk dropship and it is not new it was the same as the original Resistance Dropship,
Good stuff, there have been other new releases as well.
My Dropzone Commander Resistance has been gathering dust for several years hope it picks up around here again so I get to use it. I never got regular games in by the time I had my army sorted people seemed to be getting out of the game. Got the new mini rule-book finger crossed from me it makes a come back, I found Dropzone Commander to be a fun game when I got to play it.
Would love to see this game make a comeback. I wasn’t a fan of splitting the new edition’s rules between a book and the internet, though I understand the reason for it. I’d like to give the new rules a go some time.
There are loads of new variants and lots of stuff getting packed with multiple options in the box.
They are damn near done bringing everything back on sale and are hinting Behemoths for late 2021/early 2022. Getting close!
The idea of Behemoths really is a change in the game I am not keen on, it takes away from the game concept for me somewhat, it was bad enough with the PHR massive walkers that were nearly impossible to kill.
Some of the new unit variants they are putting in appear to be aimed at killing Behemoths, so I’d say they are thinking about counters.
And I’ve had two PHR type-4’s killed in a single round each in the last tournament I was at! Focus fire from Scourge gunships is a bit horrifying in v2….
I think time is going to tell with Behemoths. Hopefully they get the design right out of the gate, but there is always the option for event organisers to choose a format without them if preferred.
