TTCombat Announce Dropfleet Dreadnoughts For August 31st!
August 22, 2018 by brennon
TTCombat has announced that their long-awaited range of Dreadnoughts for Dropfleet Commander are going to be leaving their respective stardocks on August 31st.
As you can see by this very lovely render here these are going to be some terrific ships which will add a whole new level of destruction to your games of Dropfleet Commander. You could either describe these as floating cities or more accurately, floating fortresses!
There will more previews of these ships over the coming days as we run up to launch so I reckon we'll come back to this a few times to show off more of what's been revealed.
Are you still playing a lot of Dropfleet Commander?

Stopped playing after the take over to be honest, our entire group did. Shame because we spent hundreds each on DropZone and then all spent £150 each on Dropfleet kickstarter, never played a game. Just sitting in boxes for 5 of us.
The new dreadnought class ship’s look fantastic.
I played a few small games with the starter set when the game came out… then our little gaming group of 4 kind of moved on to other things… I’ve been trying to keep up with news about Dropfleet after the TTC transition but haven’t heard a lot… @ Gencon, they were selling off Dropzone starter boxes for like $35 each and their tables looked great… my buddy and I almost bought in to DZ at that point… lol… that said, I am curious to see how this expansion into the Dreadnoughts goes as I’d love to dust off my… Read more »
Unfortunately my local group evaporated after the TTCombat take over. Both games are good systems but TTCombat let the community die by releasing shinies far too slowly, dropping the Talon programme and not supporting the Hawk forum.
I just hope they can turn it around now
I agree, it just died a death and any buzz on the forums went to.
It’s still on my to-do list 🙁
Game died around here, when you stopped being able to buy it online for a discount. No one in my group is going to overpay to have it shipped from overseas. Not with all the other games out there competing to hit the tables.
That’s just how it is around here, no retail stores with in a couple hours. So if you cant buy it online, then its not going to last.
If its not exceptional, then you better be able to buy it for an affordable price.
Theres just too many games out their right now.
I hope they take this oportunity to re-launch the Dropzone games, because the take over kind of sucked the energy out of what little momentum they had going at that time.
Both games definitely deserve to be bigger.
On the bright side : I kind of doubt we would even be talking about these games if it hadn’t been for TTCombat.
Been interesting reading the comments – I never bought into dropfleet (but I did get the dropzone starter as a Christmas present one year – all painted, but never had a chance to play). I had thought of getting into dropfleet as a painting project but having read the comments I’m not sure anymore… Shame to see TTC seemingly drive the game onto the rocks.
Gimme the mini’s!
OK!

Still loving the game though I to will admit its been a few months since my last game, just been so busy I havent had a chance to play anything much of late.
I feel the need for a new edition for DFC is beginning to set in
Intersting to see the other comments on how people have stopped playing since TT combat lack of visible support. Our group have managed to keep going but less often with Dropzone, as its a great game, but the lack of new stuff and support has dampened enthusiasm for some time. But Dropfleet has struggled since initial kickstarter it seems. A number of us backed it on expectations from our dropzone experience and the nice models. But the rules dont help it, as the game doesnt flow well i feel. I liked the idea of fighting in orbit over cities but… Read more »
I am painting some Dropfleet Shaltari right now, the game is not dead! It is however a slow burner. I think all things Drop Commander are starting to get back into gear now over at TTCombat with Dropzone 2nd edition in beta and the combined games Battle For Earth expansion book in the works. Hopefully they get the Talon program back up and running so we start seeing more organised events happening. There was a 20 something player tournament in the UK earlier this year which I was at and had a lot of fun with it. Sadly I wasn’t… Read more »
My wife and I still play Dropfleet. This winter we will be starting a campaign that I’ve been writing.
We always do campaigns for the games we enjoy.
I will be grabbing the dreadnoughts.
I have a UCM starter fleet but I don’t feel any real urgency to pick up anymore. One of the worst possible things you can do when introducing a new game is not follow it up with a steady stream of releases. I know this was mainly due to TTCombat taking over the reins but people move on quickly and they won’t invest in a game if it stagnates.
