New Transformation Cards Released For Star Wars: Destiny
July 14, 2020 by brennon
Whilst production for Star Wars: Destiny may have stopped and the game slowly winding down, Fantasy Flight Games has released a new set of free Print & Play cards which you can use alongside your existing collection. These new Transformation Cards add a few new mechanics into this dice roller.
Anakin Skywalker // Star Wars: Destiny
The card above is a good example of what you have to play with from this set. Anakin Skywalker here starts play in his Jedi form, using dice which already exist within the game (if you can find them!). Then, once the conditions on the card have been met he doesn't die but is instead replaced by Darth Vader.
Darth Vader // Star Wars: Destiny
If Side B of a card doesn't have a points value then you will always use Side A to determine your original starting line-up. However, you can also use Side B and it's points value if you prefer. Either way, this allows you to play games with transforming characters on the tabletop, telling the story of their rise or fall; depending on your point of view.
A good example of this done in a different way is Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is put into play on Side A but as you'll note, he doesn't have any dice.
Obi-Wan Kenobi // Star Wars: Destiny
He does, however, have the Guardian keyword which allows him to soak damage from others and he comes with his Action which allows him to flip over to Side B where he becomes a Force Ghost and can have a more direct influence on the outcome of your games.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's Spirit // Star Wars: Destiny
This is a really fun way to play games and I think that they've done a good job of making it feel balanced, even with this extra character for you to deal with. The proof will be in the pudding but I think it would be fun to run a group with Anakin/Darth Vader going up against the likes of Obi-Wan and Luke.
Star Wars: Destiny - More Options!
As well as the characters above this has also given Fantasy Flight Games a chance to include characters from the beloved Clone Wars series. This means you'll see characters like Fives and Wolffe in the mix, each with their own ways to make a mark within your deck.
You can find the full list of cards HERE and on the link below which can be printed off and used as you see fit. Some may require you to have the existing dice in your collection but a lot offer you a chance to play around with alternative set-ups non-the-less.

You'll even find new options for Han Solo both frozen in carbonite and then freed from his prison! This option even comes with ways to reduce the cost of running specific characters so you can team up to complete your goals with a thematic group.
This could a nice option for those who have been missing playing Destiny!
