Customize Abilities & Actions With 3DG ModCube Kickstarter
May 5, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
While at Adepticon this spring, we came upon a fantastic discovery- the ModCube! The ModCube is a great, little project by 3 Dimension Gear (3DG), that allows you to have the flexibility of multiple tokens at your fingertips in one, specialized cube.
Today the ModCube has gone live on Kickstarter and has hit the ground running!
The ModCube literally allows you to choose which abilities or actions are represented on your cube while not making it a permanent choice. This means you can change your cubes up from game to game! Talking about the cube is one thing, but trying it out for myself made it even better! I was given the privilege of seeing production samples for the ModCube and putting them together in different varieties- and all I can say, is "Wow!" What a clever idea for gaming!
Customizing your ModCube is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Ready to move on to another game, or change which faction you're playing? Simply open your ModCube and select new tiles!
At this time, the Kickstarter has token options for Sci-Fi games of all sorts. The ModCube was trialed by gamers in both X-Wing & 40K tournaments ans it was very well received. As with all Kickstarters, the better this project does, the more options we will see offered for the ModCube including steampunk games, like Malifaux!
Will you be customizing your gaming tokens with this clever ModCube system?

Curse you Beasts of War, for … er… reporting on stuff that I have to buy now! This looks like a great set for Infinity. You all should see if you can get some early product for you Infinity Bootcamp.
Now that’s a pretty cool idea! hmmmmm…
interesting concept.
that is mind blowing 😀
the amount of games that use icons on dice is HUGE 🙂
… and there are going to be a lot more 😉
these guys are going to hit huge with this, especially in the future 🙂
just imagine if they got in touch with the guys who make Dice Masters 😉 😀
this is looking like a very exciting project for gaming in general, war games, board games, dice games, all of them 🙂
That was my thought as well, @motioninpoetry! It’s pretty cool when you see a well thought plan come together. 😀
yeah, I can definitely see these being used with a lot of different of games 🙂
there is a massive amount of licensing opportunities for this I think 🙂
I’m hoping they will get in talks with some different gaming companies soon to arrange a deal 😉
Nice!
