Tor Gaming Reveal Relics’ False King Of The Goblins
July 7, 2016 by brennon
Tor Gaming have now revealed the full miniature that will become the False King Of The Goblins in Relics! While we get a look at this mysterious character now his face is still hidden behind a mask...
As you can see he has something 'familiar' about him but I want to know more about the history behind him and how he works within the world.
What story would you come up about his relation to the Ridend?

That is great!
Did you realize before me, that it reads False King*S* of the Goblins? I did just now. So, that will have to be explained. Either there are several or this one has some kind of exchangability or it’s about his toy or he is one in a long line or it’s even something of a faction of their own. Or it’s actually a title. Maybe they dub their rulers “The False King” or even in plural, and when they are “faceless” – being of a different kind and all might support that, even if only in the subordinates’ eyes –… Read more »
Flip side is that it’s going to be a massive let down for you if it turns out it’s just a typo 😉
…were I so inclined. Yet, why would I ever expect this little semi-attentive mind flexing to influence the world? Not only is this my very own fiction, it’s not even a warm up. ;D
It’s not a typo. 😉
lol I was thinking more David Bowie (and a certain King he acted as)
More than what? The model? I’d say it’s pretty clear who that is…
The False King is a mercenary model that can be normally be taken with any faction, except Ridend (However there have been hints at a “special” False King build that he can lead the Ridend into battle as well) The False King can allow other factions bring some Ridend models in as mercs to their forces and he also has several anti-Ridend tricks such as taking command of the enemies Ridend models for a turn, and additional negative modifiers for a Moral check, before they can even attack the usurper, with the lingering doubts he met be Ridend after all.… Read more »
Proper Ridend are ruled by the good queen Morri Tolliwop and have been for hundreds of years, so this guy definitely needs lancing – after a suitable long-winded challenge and an opportunity to cease and desist, leave the premises, etc., etc.
What interests me most about this is the use of the ‘G’ word… I can’t recall it being used anywhere by Ridend to describe themselves or in articles about the Ridend – is this an appropriate term to be using, or a Britanan insult?
That jumped right into my face as well. But, since I don’t really know neither the world nor the game asumed either I just don’t know or it is new. 😉
Although Ridend are goblins, I would agree I’ve not seen them refer to themselves as such, and suspect “False King of Goblins” was chosen since it sounds more evocative of the “Goblin King” he is an homage to, than “False King of Ridend” would have been.
He looks like a bad guy from the various gundam media
he looks nice.
