August 19, 2024 by brennon
Great Escape Games are taking pre-orders for "The Good" supplement for use with their 28mm Wild West game, Dead Man's Hand.
The Good // Dead Man's Hand
The Good supplement is a forty-page sourcebook that can also include a full set of facton cards with all of the information for thirteen new factions depending on the bundle you pick. You will need Dead Man's Hand Redux to use this supplement but this gets you going with a seriously hefty amount of extra goodies.
The factions included are Buffalo Soldiers, The Stranger, Daughters of the West, The Seven, Mountain Men, Plains Indians, State Police, Texas Rangers, The Boys, The Bucks, The Other Seven, The Tong and Pioneers.
The Strangers // Dead Man's Hand
Texas Rangers // Dead Man's Hand
You will also get new Legends Of The West including The Good, John Bridges, Wild Bill, Calamity Jane, Rev. Johnson, Roy Magnum, Tex Miller, The Professor, Doc Amos, Cheveyo “Death Hunter” and El Rayo de Dead Man’s Hand.
Buffalo Soldiers // Dead Man's Hand
Pioneers // Dead Man's Hand
The Good will also be included as a miniature with your pre-orders of this supplement. Last but not least, this book also comes with twelve new scenes to play out across four new acts. A solid set of options for someone wanting to take their games of Dead Man's Hand a little further.
If you're really into the Wild West, you can also get the supplement with ALL the miniatures available.
Are you going to be picking this up?

I recognize them all except for the black guy. Is he from the film ‘Silverado’?
I thought he might be one of the folks from The Harder They Fall
He’s from the Mel Brooks classic, “Blazing Saddles”. ✊?
@greatescapegames – confirm the “Blazing Saddles” reference for your black good guy?
He was inspired by The Harder They Fall, brennon gets the badge!
Woot!
The best Jane in my opinion was the one from the awesome TV series Deadwood. She brought a ton of character to that show.
I liked Jayne from Firefly 🙂
Me too, we based our Calamity Jane on her.
Swin-gen : Woo ?
I’ll be placing my order later today probably. Looking forwards to ‘The Bad And The Ugly’ when that is released.
I think I’ll wait for both because shipping and the like are going to be a killer. 🙁
not sure where you’re base @limburger, but my UK order was free shipping. I did spend £58 though as I bought other bits too.
Is there something other than factions in this book ?
“ Last but not least, this book also comes with twelve new scenes to play out across four new acts. A solid set of options for someone wanting to take their games of Dead Man’s Hand a little further.”
From above. ?
I missed that bit. I do hope there’s a bit more info on what those scenarios are like.
The acts in the core rules each play out over three scenes.
There are setup guidelines and story fluff in each scene along with any special rules.
Scene 1 is a small amount of minis on each side to kick things off.
Scene 2 increases the number of figures on each side and escalates the action.
Scene 3 is a full 21 point gang each for the big finale.
I’ve not played all of the ones in core rules yet, just the first two acts and skimmed the rest.
Just as a clarification, the book comes with a 52 card deck. These are the faction cards (J, Q, K, A) for the 13 factions in the book. £20.
There is the £24 option that includes 13 cards with all the 13 faction special rules. When you buy a faction box, it comes with the appropriate card but, as players of the 1st ed have a load of these factions already, we included it as an option for those folks. They are not necessary as they just repeat the appropriate section in the book.
Thanks for the clarification.
Tempted to get into this, Knuckleduster Miniatures do some amazing cinematic gangs / miniatures. Anyone know how they scale next to the Dead Man’s Hand range?
