The Fourth Doctor Is Joined By His Companions As Warlord Heads Into The Time Vortex
September 12, 2018 by dracs
Warlord have a new set for Doctor Who: Into The Time Vortex coming out later this month, letting players recreate the adventures of Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor, alongside his many and varied companions.
While the Second Doctor shall forever remain my favourite, you can't help but love the Fourth Doctor. He had some of the most exciting adventures in the show's history (and most embarrassing, no-one mention the Talons of Weng-Chian!), helped along by his colourful cast of side-characters.
This new set of TARDIS travellers features Harry Sullivan, a doctor working for UNIT when the Doctor regenerated into his fourth incarnation, Leela, a warrior of a tribe descended from a far-future survey team, and both versions of Romana, a fellow Time Lord and one of the few companions who can truly be said to be more than a match for the Doctor.
This set will be heading for release come the 22nd of September. It is one I am very happy to see, as it will allow me to play some of my favourite fourth Doctor stories, such as Robots of Death, or City of Death (starting to see a pattern here).
Which of the Fourth Doctor's companions is your favourite?

Those look really nice.
Really nice, the obvious omission is Sarah Jane Smith, suspect she may be being held over for the Third Doctor set.
What’s wrong with Talons (aside from the rat of course)?
Indeed. The rat aside, it’s a cracking story.
Talons is an extremely entertains story, one of the fourth doctor’s best, but is more than a little racially insensitive.
It’s not aged well in that sense.
That’s something that you can say about a lot of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s TV. Look at the treatment of Toberman in Tomb of the Cybermen.
Yes, very much so. Tomb of the Cybermen is, again, one of the Second Doctor’s best stories, but it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo racist.
There’s little that shows your age as much as your favourite doctor, and, erm, yes
You forgotten the jellybabys @dracs
The best of the Doctors, My Doctor!!
I see that the shitty new Doctor Who logo is polluting this, just why they cannot use the correct logo for the correct Doctor is beyond me.
The reason is … BBC.
The best of the 4th Doctor’s companions was of course K9. Followed by Romana, she was a Timelord and equal to the Doctor, a companion that as a strong female character, was not a halfwit or a bit of eye candy, back in the days when Timelords only had one gender! It would be interesting to bring her back into the series although she would probably have to be a male now…lol
