Fight At The Battle Of Assaye With Warlord’s Wellesley In India

Having started my journey into the stories of Sharpe and having recently finished Sharpe's Triumph, it was awesome to see that Warlord Games had released a new 28mm Napoleonic Soldier Of Fortune miniature for December in the form of Wellesley In India!

This miniature represents the Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley in his turn as the Major-General at the Battle of Assaye which would prove to be quite the turning point for him and his first major victory. He is shown here on the back of Diomed, his faithful steed, and he looks particularly swish in his uniform! I was saying a few weeks ago on the Weekender that I would love to put together a Sharpe-inspired Sepoy force for use during this early period of Wellesley's career and here comes the man himself!

Maybe you could dive into the Sharpe stories and play out the pursuit of the dastardly William Dodd alongside McCandless with the terrible Obadiah Hakeswill waiting in the shadows! There are some pretty awesome moments from the battle that you could play out historically and with a bit of poetic licence.
What do you make of this Sepoy General?
