New Tanks Rumble Off The Production Line From Company B
January 28, 2016 by brennon
Company B have shown off some of their new tanks which have a bit of history to them. See what you think of both the M4A2 PTO and Thunderbolt VII which are part of their Fame & Glory range...
"The M4A2's utilized by the Marines had many field options added. Wood armor protected the tank from magnetic mines, and snorkel vents allow the engine to breath. Extra water was carried on the tank hull, and a field combat phone was added to the rear to allow communication with troops outside the tank."
"Commanded by Creighton Abrams, this is one of the last tanks he utilized in the final drive to Germany. Abrams' crew customized their tank with the add-on armour from German Panthers, as well as extra machine guns up top."
Which of these two tanks would you rather add to your collection? I think that I'd have to go with the Thunderbolt VII simply because of the man who rode within it...
What do you think?

they both look good.
Those look really good.
Very nice – and they do a Japanese APC too!
The proportions are weird and what friggin scale is this ?
Nice touch on the M4A2 “PTO” = Pacific Theater of Operations. Note the wooden plank bolted to the side, a countermeasure against Japanese troops with magnetic mines. Marine “Zimmerint” – baby! Now we just need a Marine “Ronson” or “Zippo” variant with flamethrowers! Nice to see the Pacific theater get a little attention. 😀
Indeed. It would have been good to have seen the hatches either covered in the wire cages or upturned nails that became common with late war PTO M4’s. They ended up looking bizarre.
As for the M4A3E8, the armour didn’t always come from Panthers, it came from whatever was available including other M4’s. Oddly the model is depicted without the armour slab on the front that extended over the transmission and had a cut out for the bow MG.
