Track RPG Initiative With Tabletop Artisan’s Turn Keeper
April 19, 2019 by brennon
Whilst many of us just use a piece of paper to track initiative in our role-playing games Tabletop Artisans has gone one step further with their Turn Keeper on Kickstarter.
The Turn Keeper is a fancy new way for you to not only track the initiative of your characters but also the combat round number you've reached too. The standard set comes with twenty-two different tokens for both monsters and player characters which can be magnetically attached to the points around the dial.
The Turn Keeper also comes in a variety of different styles with designs which stretch from very standard ones like that above through to the Elf one...
...and the Dwarven one. So, depending on where you're looking to plan your game you could get one which fits the culture or your own personal tastes. I think for something as mechanical as this the Dwarven one is surely the way to go right?
This is quite obviously a luxury option for someone getting stuck into their role-playing. Yes, it's a bit more complicated than pieces of paper but it does give everyone at the table a good view of what's going on during combat.
Also, it looks snazzy as hell! I could see this being a nice gift for the Dungeon Master who has everything.
Make sure to check out the Kickstarter for more details...

Looks lovely but for €100 I think I’ll stick to pen and paper.
Total cool but with a price of $100 for the low end and $200 for the top end, I will stick to using dice and tokens.
an expensive gimmick to complicate your games = but it will look good doing it.
had it been 10% of the price = it could be a fun addition to use a few times for the novelty value
