Stronghold Terrain Team Up With Brother Vinni For New Viking Hero

Stronghold Terrain have teamed up with Brother Vinni to produce another neat looking model for their growing range of dark age warriors that would be perfect for the world of SAGA. See what you think of their latest Viking Warlord based on someone you might know...
Well, let's not beat around the bush any longer. This new model has been based on the version of Ragnar Lodbrok from the successful TV series, Vikings, over on the History Channel. I think they've done a great job of getting the look and feel of him down with his trademark hand axe shouldered just after a fight.
HVM Workbench have also produced a version of Ragnar of their own where the paint job is perhaps better, it's certainly a lot more crisp. The model will be made available over the next few weeks and this could hopefully lead to us seeing some more characters from the show like Ragnar's brother Rollo, Jarl Borg, Lagertha or maybe even King Ecbert for the Saxons.

Meh. Nice mini, but doesn’t really stand out as a Viking hero.
Well he could be generic ‘dark age’ hero for any army really when you think about it – neat for any side with the right kind of shield design.

I’ll definitely be adding him to my collection.
Kinda hope Stronghold are at Salute 2015 – would love to pick up some of their buildings and heroes.

I’ve been thinking of starting *another* Warband for Saga and sculpting my Warlord and Hearthguard to look like characters from the Vikings TV series for a while now- maybe if I wait a while the professionals will do it for me! 😉
Nothing fancy but I like it. More would be good. Scenery is fantastic.
