Steve Jackson Games’ Munchkin Is Getting A Marvel Overhaul
November 20, 2015 by brennon
While it might seem like the cash cow that is Munchkin is relentless people keep buying them so they will continue to make them. The latest endeavour is one alongside USAopoly as they announced Munchkin Marvel Edition...
The set will contain Marvel comics artwork so there's no Munchkin 'twist' to this other than the mechanics that you're used to by now. I think this could be the very first of the games to not feature the stylised artwork by John Kovalic and others.
Inside you get...
- Six oversized S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Role Cards
- 168 Cards (including Door Cards and Treasure Cards)
- Six Level Trackers
- Custom Die
- Game Rules
...so nothing out of the ordinary there although I like that it gives you level trackers.
Could this be the time for you to leap into Munchkin?

Hah! My kids love Marvel and Munchkin. Sold!
One more step closer to Disney Princess Munchkin.
Not saying it is a bad thing just saying.
Lol, nuff said

Munchkin is an average game at best and is overdone already. Now brand stamping the same way as monopoly is quite depressing.
Too much Marvel stuff lately. It starts looking like Zombies stuff
At least they didn’t give them the munchkin art direction.
I will get it too.
So sick of marvel already. Half way through the last avengers movie, as I sat there joylessly just trying to ignore an incoherent plot, I decided to go marvel free for a while. That includes this cash grab.
