See What Steamforged Games Is Bringing To Gen Con
July 26, 2017 by stvitusdancern
Steamforged Games gave us a look at some of the new items that they will be bringing to Gen Con. One of these exciting offerings will be the Blacksmith Guild.
Per their announcement...
As resilient as the steel he crafts, Anvil stands steadfast as a Master Blacksmith. A veteran of his craft, Anvil’s wisdom is as valuable as the protection his shield provides.
Towering over the pitch, Anvil is ready to assume an unrelenting guard and knockdown the opposition for his allies.
Anvil is the armor of his team: absorbing hits and deflecting danger way from his team. He holds his ground and provides a safeguard so that his allies can secure victory.
His ability to enable the raw potential of the Blacksmiths, his apprentice Sledge especially, is invaluable. Bolstered by their Master, his team can perform incredible displays of skill and carnage.
Stalwart coaches looking for a Guild that plays like shield and sword will enjoy the mighty Blacksmiths. Prepare to stoke the flames of battle, and strike whilst the iron is hot.
This set includes a ball, 6 player cards, bases, 3D terrain, goalpost, and 6 players: Anvil, Cinder, Furnace, Sledge, Iron and Ferrite.
You'll be able to get a copy of this brand new Guild at GenCon 50, we expect demand to be VERY HIGH and copies will be limited to one per person.
Next, to the Hunter's Guild, I think I am really liking the Blacksmith Guild. I going to have to get there quick before they are all gone.
What is your favourite guild?

I was a bit taken aback when I found out that the Blacksmith’s guild didn’t have a mascot, but the whole Master and apprentice Guild mechanic has really grown on me. Can’t wait to see the final two models. …….
Do like the look of these, scenery piece is rather ugly compared to farmers. Be interesting to see how they play, as releases so far don’t shout any clear play style.
They do good models. Wish they made a skirmish game around the guilds.
Likewise, the whole Football With Swords and Crossbows concept (and its apparent popularity) boggles my mind … 😀
Lol.. it is an odd take on a theoretical sports game but it totally works… ‘combat’ as it were is often grabbing the ball and then bouncing out of combat to continue on towards the goal… sure, you can just stand there and hit your opponent with your hammer… and sometimes that is the best plan.. but frequently it’s not!!! lol..
