Stargrave Metal Miniatures Previewed & Pre-Orders Fire Up
April 7, 2021 by brennon
North Star Military Figures are getting prepared for the full release of Stargrave at the end of April. The Nickstarter pre-orders are now in full swing and we got a look at some of the metal miniatures which are coming to support this Sci-Fi skirmish game.

There are some excellent characters here that would make great Captains and First Mates for your Stargrave Crews. They look to have covered a lot of the bases for specialisations and there is a good degree of variety when it comes to both genders and alien factions. The scale and proportions of the metal miniatures look to better fit the design of the plastics too compared to the original release of Frostgrave.
Nickstarter Pre-Orders
These metal figures are getting added to the Nickstarter pre-orders as the amount of people joining in grows. They've unlocked Rogues, Hackers and Medics which are going to be added in alongside "pledges".

Obviously, you've got the choice of the new plastic kits when you initially dive in. This might guide the kind of crew that you're looking to play. You can then expand on this with the addition of the metal miniatures we've seen above plus older models from the North Star range. They have been looking at Rogue Stars in particular as a range that would match well with Stargrave.
Make sure to check out the pre-order options and let us know what kind of crew you're going to make!

I’m forming ideas of the minis I want to accumulate for Stargrave and they’re not all North Star but … I’ve never regretted buying one of their box sets so I’m in for all three.
I have a few Rogue Stars blisters ready and waiting too. They’re a mixed bunch but the two robots in particular are great.
I’ve seen a few images again demonstrating the cross compatibility of Northstar’s plastic sets – Frostgrave Gnolls and Cultists mixed with these Stargrave sets in particular look pretty cool.
I just spotted the image of the gnolls with weapons …
It made sense that those would be compatible (same company after all), but to see it in practice is even better.
Having spent a bit more (’cause of Brexit … yeah, that’s it) I’m not sure if I should have added those as well.
There’s always ‘next time’ right ?
“Everyone is now getting a
free frame of Gnolls. ” … yay
I went for 1 of each box for this along with some of the rogue star blisters. I was thinking of adding some of the core space crew into this if I need some extra verity.
it might be me, but I think the corespace crew are tiny compared to everything else …
OTOH having options is always good.
I hadn’t really thought of that, I don’t normally put core space minis next to anything else. If I did need any more options I was looking at the Raumjäger & Einherjar boxes from Wargames Atlantic earlier, I thought they could make good troopers.
I wouldn’t worry too much.
If the crew is the same size as each other then all is good.
Just pretend that the aliens are either close or far away 😉
Fab looking figures for players.
I was going to keep the gnolls for frostgrave but, having seen the picture on the bottom right of the Nicstarter page, i will be making them into Stargrave minis!
