Star Wars: Shatterpoint Core Set Heroes & Villains Showcased!

Atomic Mass Games has now revealed both sides that are going to be available in the upcoming Star Wars: Shatterpoint Core Set. You get some fun miniatures for both the Light and Dark side of The Force.
Core Set Miniatures // Star Wars: Shatterpoint
The first half of the miniatures from the Core Set feature Anakin and his loyal companion, Captain Rex. They come alongside two Clone Troopers fighting alongside the famous Jedi. You've also got Ahsoka Tano alongside Bo-Katan and some of her followers from House Kryze.
I really like the look of the miniatures and the dynamic sculpts we've got for them all. The Clone Troopers, in particular, look fantastic and Captain Rex is looking badass.
On the other side of the coin, we have the forces of the Sith, the Deathwatch and the Separatists!

If you want to go down the route of playing as the bad guys then you can take on the role of Asajj Ventress or Maul. There is also Gar Saxon and more of his followers for you to consider playing as. You could also go down the route of playing as General Kalani and his Battle Droids.
Again, the miniatures are looking great and I think I'm on board with the look of all of them so far. It's neat to see they have followed the same cues for regular infantry from the likes of Marvel: Crisis Protocol and put the Battle Droids on one base like that. I think of all of the miniatures, my favourite is Ventress though. She's an excellent character from the Star Wars canon and it's good to see her.
They have been honing in on the look and feel of the Clone Wars cartoons which I think makes sense for the game, making it feel different in aesthetic to that of Star Wars: Legion. We're yet to hear about gameplay and how that all works yet but I am certainly intrigued.
What do you think?

Great looking figures could be interesting playing a Mandalorian civil war.
My 2 cents on that game and everything around it:

I read the article and I agree with your points. Personally I prefer to wargame with miniatures that are 28mm scale like Legion. So if the rules are free like their other games I will play with what I have (minis and terrain) and hit two birds with one stone. I am not starting another system based on the same characters but on a different scale. I rather spend my money on a game system that is completely different.
the rules will be free, you just won’t have the stats, dice, or measuring rules to play it. But go nuts
If it is anything like M:CP they will have the stats down the line available on a database like http://www.mcpdb.com/ .
Those miniatures do look really good.
Depending on price, I am very tempted by those.
I know it’s supposed to be a tactical droid… but it looks like it’s serving drinks on a tray.
Just getting into Legion and this feels like its days are numbered with a new system (developed in house) and more importantly scale coming. Very disheartening.
I don’t think so, they are very different approaches. Legion is an army game, this isn’t. They will appeal to different players and provide different experiences. The only real conflict is that they are the same IP. Legion is in a place where most of the core content is already out so a slower release schedule isn’t a huge deal. They are bringing out Ewoks later in 2023 which may be a whole faction of their own (and usable in rebels, obviously) so there is still plenty on their way. We are probably going to see Gungans if we are… Read more »
While Rex is probably my favorite character the Asoka mini might be the best posed. But really, all of them look great.
I know some people are worried that this is the doom of Legion. I hope it’s not but I didn’t play Legion and probably never will. However, I will probably play this, depending on price and the actual game mechanics.
Everyone says these are bigger than Legion figures, but no one ever mentions the scale, nor puts a Legion figure in a photo for comparison. Any thoughts or info?
they look like they’re on the Marvel Crisis Protocol bases in which case Legion is 32mm, MCP is 40mm. In some cases there isn’t much height difference, but MCP uses the larger scale to make better equivalent scaled miniatures to each other and realistic proportions.
Of course this is all supposition on my part
Yeah as far as I know – the official scale hasn’t been announced but from looking at the bases and the proportions of the miniatures, we’re making an educated guess at 40mm.
Here it says 38mm:

I have only seen this is said forum on the link, can’t tell where it is from. As it is french maybe it’s somehwere from the Asmodee website?
Echelle de Figurines seems to translate to scale of the miniatures
AMG has stated that the post on that French site is neither official nor correct.
Nobody seems fussed about the scummy move to change the scale yet again to make consumers buy another version of models they already own.
you must’ve missed the first article when it was announced 2 weeks ago, about 80% of the posts are about the scale change. I think the people who don’t want it have already given up on looking at the new stuff
Isn’t buying new models the best bit of any new miniatures game? It’s how I engage with a new system.
I look forward to the Demo, I wonder if stormtroopers will be 2 or 3 to a base…?
seems to all be Clone Wars so it could be a while but since the Clones are individually based I expect when they do get into a new period they’ll be the same
Gonna stick to my annual Amazon baby yoda action figure and/or plushie. 😛
I mean, if you’re not going to end up playing the game and don’t like to paint, you might as well buy action figures. I’m sure someone’s made rulesets using the figures…!
Not impressed, agree with sundancers 2 cents. Also cant say im impressed by the miniatures, whats with all the super wide leg poses doing the splits?
