Star Wars, Industrial & Sci-Fi Terrain Kits From Multiverse Gaming
February 12, 2018 by thisisazrael
Several new 28-35mm terrain kits have been added to Multiverse Gaming's catalogue, so we thought we'd pick out some of our favourites. First up we couldn't ignore the new "Galaxy At War" range which is inspired by Star Wars.
The first addition to what I hope will become a large range, is the Moisture Vaporators set which obviously ties in nicely with the upcoming Star Wars Legion.
The kit includes two 12cm tall moisture vaporators unassembled and unpainted. Next up we have their new Modular Barriers which forms part of their Forges of Prometheus range of modular sci-fi/industrial terrain.
The kit would look great on a Necromunda or Fallout: Wasteland Warfare table and contains ten detailed modular barriers; four 50mm, four 75mm and two 100mm.
Last but not least, I wanted to highlight Multiverse Gaming's new Standard Industrial Template (SIT) Containers which would happily live on some Infinity tabletops.
What I actually really love about these containers is that they come with removable roofs, two removable top connection caps and two pairs of opening removable doors per container.
Also, each container can be stacked on top of another, or build in a lattice or even incorporate with terrain from other ranges to link in with pillars, archways, etc.
A really nice update to the kits Multiverse Gaming already offer so I'm hopeful to see them expand further.
All the kits shown off do some unpainted and unassembled.
Would you like any of these on your tabletop?

that’s fabulous looking scenery.
Those containers might be a nice to use instead of the cardboard ones I got in the Firefly Brigands & Browncoats box . Always nice to have scenery pieces with some weight to them
I am in the process of 3D printing my own. We will see how they turn out once painted.
These terrain pieces are fabulous, so don’t think for a moment I am knocking them when I say I really want a terrain manufacturer to do something more exotic for a sci-fi game setting instead of the ubiquitous industrial barriers and containers.
How about a starship, a fast breeder reactor or an alien research station? Just saying.
Really, I’m struggling to thing of a terrain manufacturer out there that doesn’t make reactors, interesting buildings and such. Keep in mind 2 things, the more complicated you make the model that vastly more expensive it becomes so less people are inclined to purchase – secondly people actually have to want to play on it. We could all go out there and design the most incredible models that cost £400 that dominate tables and look spectacular, but they don’t play well with rules systems, have quirks that make them a pain to play on/around/in and become something that gets old… Read more »
Richdean, thank you for your reply. I think you are missing the point of my post. But that’s ok, you made an interesting contribution. I’m not asking for £400 mega installations. So there’s no need for you to jump off the deep end with this discussion. I just threw out a few ideas for wanting to see something different for a change. What wrong with a trying something different with the current modular approach with interchangeable sections like this: http://www.beastsofwar.com/warsenal/warsenal-set-defences-infinity-terrain/ instead of the ‘same ol’ same ol’ bland unimaginative boxes and barriers that has been churned out ad nauseam for… Read more »
Since I got a hankering for the warmth of Tattooine I am sure I would take the vaporators into consideration. Those are used there, right?. Luke had to fix some for his uncle in “A New Hope”.
The volcanic industrial planet (“Revenge of the Sith”) is a bit too hot for me, but the barriers will fit into a depiction of this planet quite well, and so do some of the containers, especially the light red and the dark yellow one.
