The New Star Wars Cast Assembles In London!
April 30, 2014 by brennon
It's been a long time coming but the main cast for the new Star Wars movie (number seven to be exact) has been announced with potentially more information to come on May the 4th (be with you)...
Taking it all in we have...
Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Producer Bryan Burk, Lucasfilm President and Producer Kathleen Kennedy, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver and Writer Lawrence Kasdan.
...so plenty of old faces and of course some new ones. I love that Andy Serkis has landed a role in the movie and it will be interesting to see if he has a CG role or something more traditional.
It's already known that they are going to be doing away with the majority of the old narrative surrounding the books and extended universe but I reckon that is for the better. It would probably make more sense to try and do something more original.
Are you excited for the new Star Wars story?
Exclusive extract from the new Star Wars episode 5 script, from a scene featuring Attack the Block’s John Boyega…..
“Wagwaan! Man dem on a bare long ting wit dat crump rarseclart Sith Lord ya get me? Dat Blemboss be well butters blud. Dem getting slapped up with my hench and peng force swag bredren, believe”
Nang blud nang!

Ok, cards on the table. I’m one of those middle aged farts who was exactly the right age for original Star Wars and thought the prequels were a crime against cinema.
Words cannot even begin to express how excited I am at the prospect of seeing the original cast in another Star Wars film. I so want this to be good and I have confidence that at worst, this will be the fourth best of the Star Wars films.
I’m expecting 3rd best at the least 😉
If we can forget parts 1-3 and this is a fresh start then im all for it
Watched the first Star Wars at the cinema back in the 70’s and suffered through the prequels.
Here’s hoping that the new movies restore my faith. A good start would be to have the first 5 mins showing Jar Jar being strangled with his own ears and the destruction of Naboo with the entire Gungan race.
hear hear.
also, here’s to hoping they don’t overdo it with the old cast members, but manage to make it a fitting “passing on the torch” type thing and not an extended indiana jones part 4 franchise suicide. as is the prequels werent bad enough.
I would be very surprised if andy serkis is not a CGI-character, as that is his speciality.
The questions is more whether it is a new gollum -or a new jar jar?
Ummm… guys, you forgot to list Max Von Sydow. Ming the Merciless is in the cast too.
George Lucas isn’t in the photo. This definitely is a promising start.
Many Bothans died to bring us this photo… 🙂
lol +10 Comment of the day 🙂
May the schwartz be with you!
Well, can’t be any worse than the prequel trilogy…
I also didnt think that prequels could be worse than the sequels if directed by George Lucas … I am still recovering from the fact that they were.
I have faith the JJ and Lawrence Kasdan can craft a cool story.
And since JJ has said that it will be as much physical effects as possible, the horrible cgi fest of the crap prequels wont be repeated.
So Sméagol will be Yoda lost relative.
I hope JJ didn’t screw-up Star Wars like he did Star Trek.
Some would argue that he saved it.
Your right @erastus. The numbers don’t lie. Star Trek now has more people watching than before the reboot. Before JJ got his hands onto the franchise is was becoming a sinking ship that younger generations would avoid like the plague.
In many ways, he changed star trek into star wars, avec lens flares.
I just think they could have made new films without binning all the other films.
