Stalk Your Foes With Puppets War’s New Shadow Hounds Unit
January 25, 2018 by brennon
Good killers are hard to come by, especially an entire unit of bloodthirsty butchers. The new Shadow Hounds from Puppets War look like they have sliced and diced their way through many an army...
Armed with a selection of powerful rifles and deadly knives you could imagine the Shadow Hounds being dispatched into the deadliest warzones with the intent of cutting the head from a particularly dangerous target or alien warlord.
I think they all have names like Skull, Bones, Slayer, Butcher and things like that. You just know they'd all have tattoos covering their bare heads and they totally wear black armour - certainly has to be black.
Skirting the line between good and evil I think these fellows would make for some awesome anti-heroes on the tabletop.
Thanks to their design they would probably fit into many different Sci-Fi worlds too, specialist assassins and killers that are only called in for the direst of situations.
What do you think?

Not a fan of the heads. Fortunately Puppetswar makes lots of head conversion options!
Kane berserker’s.
I love these – they look really cool and menacing.
Too much juvenile testosterone for my tastes. As already mentioned, Puppets War has lots of other great stuff. Just ordered a bunch of heads, actually.
Okay I have to say the heads and arms look a bit off. But it does make a good looking model that can be fixed up with other PoW bits.
These could be a Tech Gang from pre-Necromunda – maybe paint them black and white. Wonder how they scale next to the new Necromunda
The Bane-a-like heads are not working for me either. But at least the majority of the troops are aiming their weapons and looking like they are in a fight, which is what I like for my wargaming. I don’t like minis that look like they are posing for photographs or looking like chess pieces.
