Squeak, Squeak Boom! New Cawdor Bomb Rats Skitter Forth
March 16, 2019 by brennon
Forge World has released a new set of critters onto their webstore for use in Necromunda. Check out the Cawdor Bomb Delivery Rats...
This set of little fellows will be running through the Underhive delivering grenades and all sorts to their intended target. I love how exceptionally funny and weird this new release is, speaking to the quirky dark comedy of Necromunda that has potentially been lost in other games set in Warhammer 40,000
I do hope that the rat at the top of the first image with the wheels actually has survived some of these explosive encounters before and is now a highly trained delivery system for grenades and more.
Are you a Cawdor player including these within your repertoire?

For some reason this just reminds me of the old Day Today bomb dog sketch.
Now these guys really are awesome, I love the fact they’re adding these type of models to the game. Each one is so characterful, I imagine they’re all their own little personalities too ?
I’m afraid their own little personalities will be scattered all over the underhive with their own little body parts…
Necromunda I have and it’s (mostly) painted, but it feels like it’s been overshadowed by the likes of Kill Team and other boxed games.
Yes… I know GW have released the other factions (along with overpriced faction books), but Kill Team had lots of factions available at release in the starter box.
What I want is rules for Necromunda Gangs in Kill Team… or even rules for Kill Teams in Necromunda.
I think my KT is just a gateway to 40k,imagine how cool it would have been back in the day to buy a squad and have a game dedicated to using it. I prefer 500 point games of 40k tbh.necro on the other hand is a quirky game in its own right, but I agree with you, KT just seems easier to access and leads on to big things.
Lol great looking wee critters.
Give a whole new meaning to hunta-virus. Diagnosis? Kaboom!
Those are some nice looking rats with things strapped onto them but that Cawdor guy looks even better than his rats.
As someone very familiar with rats, the body shape and the way the legs are sculpted look more like rabbits than rats.
They would be clever enough to do the job though. Rats are used for mine clearance in some parts of Africa, they sniff them out without setting them off so they can be safely removed.
