Spellcrow Show Off Their New Dryad, A Guardian Of Nature

Spellcrow Miniatures has added another character into the mix for the world of Umbra Turris. Here we have a gentle but fearsome-looking Dryad who is clearly keeping an eye on his ancient glade.

This is just a single miniature release from the folks at Spellcrow but I thought it was so nice looking that I had to share it. I really like the style that Spellcrow has been developing over the last few months, drawing heroic proportions and slightly comic elements and then tying it into something traditionally Fantasy at the same time.

I really like the wood effect across the Dryad's body and the way that has been blended into some of the natural armour he wears and the more 'alive' parts of him too. I think you could have a lot of fun working on the bright greens of spring or the oranges of autumn in his beard and across the staff for example.

I think this fellow would be a really nice fit for the Forces Of Nature in Mantic's Kings Of War but I also think he would make for a fun alternative Druid if you were looking to dive into some roleplaying. Maybe your character could quite literally just be a treeman.

I would love to see a painted version of this character if anyone picks him up!
