Spellcrow Arm Their New & Updated Half Giant Miniature
November 26, 2019 by brennon
Spellcrow has been seriously upping the game with their latest set of releases. For example, here is the work-in-progress on their new Half Giant which is going to be coming soon.
This new version of the Half Giant is a big step up from the original one that got added into their collection a while back. There is a little more of the World Of Warcraft Orc/Ogre to this new design and I would happily include him as part of a Fantasy warband.
Here he is with the helmet mostly finished and weapons attached. I love the big meaty fists and the larger-than-life weapon which is no doubt claimed the lives of many.
He is also a chonky boy when compared to the Elf that you can see from their range. There is something of the classic Oldhammer design about the sculpts from Spellcrow which mean they would work very well for anyone looking to build up a force inspired by that era.
Could you see yourself picking this fellow up as a champion for your Ogre/Orc force?

a good Ork leader figure.
I suppose it was a male human that impregnated a female giant to create a half-giant, cos’ there’d be problems the other way around…
That’s assuming his other half is human.
A perfect giant for my 15mm Orc army!
Initially, I was excited, thinking I had finally found a figure to use as Grakagamok in KoW, but, yet again, with every suitably sized ogre/half-giant, etc. except those actually produced by Mantic, this, too, walks around with knees bent in a half-squat, gorilla-like carriage. And I’d have to flip his axe to be blade up to be less likely for self-harm.
