The minds at FireForge Games have another expansion on the way for the world of Deus Vult. If you like your Crusader-era games then this will be something to keep an eye out for. See what you think of the Burn & Loot Expansion, the cover of which is below...
This is their new skirmish level rulebook which will help you tell different stories from the Crusades. Now you can fight out those big battles and then smaller clashes around the walls of cities, in villages and more. I think this is a great step, especially with their plastic kits being readily available.
Deus Vult seems like a great game to have a go at. As well as the theme it also has some interesting mechanics concerning the way you issue orders which was fascinating when I heard about it.

This looks really promising. Also Burn and Loot is a great summary of the results of at least some (open to the interpretation of a better historian than me) of the Crusades.
Burning and looting was pretty much warfare up until very recently not just the Crusades. When the opposing army arrived outside a fortification there were only three ways to deal with them. 1. Besiege them and force a surrender. 2. Storm the Castle (Extremely Rare basically never happened unless it was a last resort) and 3. Cause so much damage the garrison has to face you in the field.
