The Sikh Cavalry Ride Into All Quiet on the Martian Front
October 17, 2014 by dracs
It looks as if Alien Dungeon will soon be bringing us to another area of the martian conflicts in All Quiet on the Martian Front, moving from America to the lands of the Nile.
This new theatre of war will open up possibilities for new technologies and units to be fielded against the martian threat. These include the Sikh Cavalry unit that Alien Dungeon have recently previewed.
This cavalry unit is completely different to anything else we have seen the human faction of this game field yet and they definitely stand out. However, I have to wonder just how effective cavalry would be against the tripods.
While we're waiting for these, Alien Dungeon have got one other new release; a set of blast markers to help you keep track of the destruction you cause in this epic scale scifi game.
What other theatres of war would you like to see covered in this game? How well do you think a cavalry unit will do against the martian might?

i don’t think cavalry would do much against a martian tripod except maybe to distract it long enough for a big gun or 2 to get a close rang shot off, but the figs look great. As for another theatre of war a jungle setting would look cool, and maybe an ocean Thunderchild re vamp too 🙂
Well, it does look like they have dynamite strapped to their lances.
`I need my eyes tested
Thought they were the red and white pennants
I feel even more sorry for the poor blighters now! 🙁
IIRC the Bengal Lancers were not exclusively Sikh and including Muslims
Maybe someone can clear that up please.
TBH I would prefer to be on horseback rather than an infantryman.
Having a faster set of legs under me to get away from the tripods sounds like a jolly spiffing idea!
The infantry with .303s don’t seem to have a hope either

In the late 19th Century and early 20th including WW1 all Indian troops wore the pagri ( turban) with each religious group wearing it slightly differently. In 1891 a Bengal Lancer Squadron could be made up of
1st Troop – Sikhs
2nd Troop – Sikhs
3rd Troop – Sikhs
4th Troop – Dogras
5th Troop – Punjabi Muslims
6th Troop – Punjabi Muslims
7th Troop – Pathans
8th Troop – Hazaras

Much appreciated
Strapping dynamite to a lance. Exactly the sort of thing I can see early 20th century British boffins coming up with to combat the alien scourge!
I mighut Ibe wrong but I think from memory that the cavalry in Space 1889 were armed with similar weapons
