Shieldwolf Tweak Their Shieldmaiden Designs
November 30, 2015 by brennon
The Shieldwolf Miniatures team have shared some more images of their upcoming Shieldmaidens which are going to be coming to Kickstarter soon. These renders show off some of the alternatives that you could get on the sprue...
The design above is similar to the one that you would have seen in concept art not too long ago. I quite like the look of them although they still feature a rather large amount of bare skin.
This second configuration shows them off wearing decidedly more cruel looking barbarian armour. The outfit is a lot less revealing as well which should make some people happy.
It seems like this is the design that they are going for when the Kickstarter hits so those of you who were looking for a more armoured look maybe you'll be happier with some of the other bodies and such on the sprue.
I do like their wild flowing hair however and I think they could make an excellent addition to a Chaos Warband in something like Warhammer Fantasy to make it so you don't just have ranks and ranks of males!
What do you think?

That newer one is clear improvement over first one.
The bare midriff design is just silly. You want the most vulnerable parts of your body protected by armor. The second one looks somewhat more practical despite the silly spiky knees.
The knees on the second one are silly, but overall it’s a better design.
I do find it encouraging not only that companies are responding to requests to make less ridiculous female figures but also that significant numbers of gamers are making the requests.
It’s not like there’s currently a shortage of cheesecake minis.
look to much like dark elves for my liking, but these are alternative renders
walking and running with horns on your knees must be a paint in the ….
