Shieldmaidens & Orcs Coming To Shieldwolf Soon
October 23, 2015 by brennon
Coming to Kickstarter in November Shieldwolf Miniatures are going to be working on a new project that hopes to bring a range of Shieldmaidens & Orcs to the tabletop to add to their growing Fantasy range...
These Shieldmaidens are going to be the main focus of the campaign and will be represented in appropriately awesome clothing that is both realistic and sensible while also maintaining a Fantasy edge. They will also be part of a hard plastic kit that should allow you a lot of choice with dynamic posing.
Orcs will make an appearance as the opposing army but the main focus is going to be on making these warrior women a reality. I really like the pseudo Nordic look they have gone for but while also tying in a much more High Fantasy feel to their armour.
I hope we'll be seeing more up to date images of these models soon.
What do you think?

They are not realistic clothed though, move that chainmail up to cover the waist too.
Why do most fantasy swords have to be so large and have extra spiky bits, usually in places where the person wielding them will hurt themselves?
This might seem weird but sculpt itself looks rather good but what bothers me is how unrealistic her weapon and armor are.
They did a Kickstarter before but never got to release the Shield Maidens which kind of left there range with a hole in it. I hope they can do it this time but I’m a bit nervous if its possible now.
That’s not realistic-looking at all. Sure, modesty’s the first casualty of war, but… that sword’s poorly designed, and despite what Ruby and Weiss say? Combat Skirts are not a smart move.
Oh, yeah, slight midriff issue too.
Sexy and armoured is entirely possible… with just a little more thought.
FFS, can’t anyone make a female model with enough armour to cover the midriff, or enough cloth to make an entire tabard?
Don’t be too quick to judge cpauls1, this is a very early sculpt we revealed and -as we said- we have made more progress on it, our KS-2 has to launch after we deliver KS-1 as we promised to our supporters. 😉
We are the first *ever* to try creating and fielding an entire female rank n’ file army, let’s take it one step at a time 🙂
